About Us

Pat bought her first Doberman while still living in England. Immigration to Canada in 1963, forced her to find homes for her three Dobes and an Afghan. But she was only  in the country for six weeks and simply couldn't be without a Dobe! She answered an ad in the newspaper and became the owner of Wrath's Stormy Rebel. Because of a floppy ear, Wrath wasn't shown, but she had fantastic temperament, and was to become the foundation for Wrath Dobermans. She was a fabulous obedience worker, and  set a whole new standard for Dobermans in the obedience ring at that time, becoming OT Ch. Wrath's Stormy Rebel. She was Obedience Dog of the Year for 1966. Her daughter, OT Ch. Wrath's Apolda Blunderbuss followed in her mother's footsteps, and the two held Top Obedience Doberman honours for six consecutive years! During this time competition in the conformation ring, was limited, but over 13 Wrath Dobermans completed their conformation titles, with many more completing obedience degrees, excelling with high scores and High in Trial awards.

Brian bought his first Dobe in 1971. In 1974 he acquired his first show dog Ch. Karalynn's Black Liberator ("Luger") who went on to become a multi group winner, and had the distinction of winning the DPCC National Specialty in 1980.

Since the amalgamation of the two kennels in 1976, Brian and Pat have had the distinction of breeding well over 300 champions carrying either the Wrath or Liberator prefix. These have included multi Best in Show and Specialty Winners, High in Trial winners and dogs which have gone on to rank as #1 Doberman and in the Top 10 All Breeds! In addition Wrath-Liberator Dobermans have succeeded in the show rings of the United States and are credited with 45 American champions in very limited showing since 1987. This kennel has had the distinction of having bred THREE DOGS that have gone on to be awarded WINNERS DOG at the Doberman Pinscher Club of America National Specialty, two RESERVE WINNERS DOG. ONE WINNERS BITCH and THREE SUPERIOR QUALITY SPECIMENS - always owner handled by Brian.  In addition, Brian piloted a client's dog to WINNERS BITCH at the DPCA National, and Ch. Liberator's Hollywood Spicegirl co-owned and co-bred with our great friends, Pauline Stockwood and Marilyn Kourtis-Maitak was WINNERS BITCH/BEST OF WINNERS IN 2016.

Although mostly associated with Dobermans, Brian, a successful and talented owner handler, has ventured into other breeds, handling many Working and Sporting dogs to their championships and higher awards.

Both Pat and Brian are proud to have been honoured as Life Members of the Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada and the Canadian Kennel Club. Pat has served in many capacities within the Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada, including President, Vice-President, Director and Show Secretary. Brian has served on the DPCC Board and is always available to lend a helping hand when there is work to be done.

Wrath-Liberator is proud to have contributed to the success of other Canadian kennels. But, most important, are the number of dogs who have become loved and valued family pets and whose owners have become members of the Wrath-Liberator circle of friends.
